The Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program recognized 21 attorneys for “outstanding advocacy” on behalf of special needs children in dependency court. Shannon McLin was honored for appeals on behalf of these children. Senator Bill Galvano, Senate sponsor of the bill that created the Special Needs Registry for such children, commented that “[t]hese attorneys are deeply committed to ensuring that our children with special needs who have endured hardship have a strong voice in court.”
