Trial Support

Protecting your record since 1997.

Florida Appeals has extensive experience providing trial support in complex cases. Sometimes the issues involved require additional research to ensure that they are properly presented, and sometimes an appeal appears inevitable in a given case. We have experience being involved at every stage of the process, from assisting with the drafting of a complaint to preparing and responding to dispositive motions, to assisting at trial itself, to addressing post-trial motions. When a case reaches the appellate level, the record below has already been established. Associating Florida Appeals for trial support helps to ensure that the record is properly preserved and will give your clients the best chance for success on appeal.

Mock Oral Arguments

We facilitate, practice, prepare, and give feedback so you are ready for the real deal.

Virtually all cases that are argued before the Supreme Court of the United States involve one or several mock arguments in order to prepare the case. Nothing is as effective in preparing for an oral argument as having former judges and experienced appellate practitioners take the role of the appellate court and ask difficult questions which the practitioner may not have considered, and which may arise during the actual oral argument. This process can be as formal or as informal as the attorneys hiring us wish it to be, ranging from a true mock oral argument in a courtroom setting with the appropriate time clock, to a round table discussion with the attorneys concerning possible questions. Let the attorneys and former judges at Florida Appeals assist you in preparing for oral argument so that your client will have the greatest chance of success.

Mediation

Resolving circuit civil and appellate cases through dispute resolution.

Shannon McLin Carlyle is a certified mediator at both the circuit civil and appellate levels. In addition, former judges, Earle W. Peterson, Jr. and William D. Palmer have extensive experience in the mediation process. If your case, whether at the appellate or trial level, requires a mediator, we have the attorneys and experience to assist you in finding an effective resolution.
